Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. Ashford is an actor, singer and dancer. Her first roles on Broadway included in Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director, has spent the majority of her career working alongside well-known directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently working on the film of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be on March 20, 2023. He stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who created Hamilton, will direct the musical. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment hearings in over a century. Ashford was the main character in two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and brought up in Denver, now spends time between Los Angeles and New York.
